  3. Building Bridges: Eurocentric to Intercultural Information Ethics.Ayesha Gautam & Deepa Singh - 2021 - Journal of Contemporary Eastern Asia 20 (1):151-168.
Misguided use, manipulation, misappropriation, disruption and mismanagement of Information deeply affects the infosphere as well as the social and moral fabric of a society. Information ethics is an attempt to bring the creation, organization, dissemination, and use of information within the ambit of ethical standards and moral codes. The diverse and inherently pluralistic nature of societies however puts forth an additional demand on us - to come up with an intercultural information ethics. An intercultural ethics which is other-centric, context sensitive (...)

  4. Against Moderate Gun Control.Timothy Hsiao & C'Zar Bernstein - 2016 - Libertarian Papers 8:293-310.
Arguments for handgun ownership typically appeal to handguns’ value as an effective means of self-protection. Against this, critics argue that private ownership of handguns leads to more social harm than it prevents. Both sides make powerful arguments, and in the absence of a reasonable consensus regarding the merits of gun ownership, David DeGrazia proposes two gun control policies that ‘reasonable disputants on both sides of the issue have principled reasons to accept.’ These policies hinge on his claim that ‘an even-handed (...)

  6. Život a práce alchymisty v obrazech.Magda Dostálová - 2015 - Teorie Vědy / Theory of Science 37 (1):51-76.
Poskytuje (...)

Abstract in English: The short essay is about impressive philosophical ideas of the great German dramatist Friedrich Schiller (1749-1805). In his “letters on the aesthetic education…” he critisizes, with respect to human behaviour, too much reason and too stringent principles, leading to a neglect of positive emotions such as empathy; he argues in favour of an aesthetic lifestyle. This is supported by biological as well as mental aspects of human self-understanding. My article follows these lines of thought in a sequence (...)

  8. Did Jewish Women Circumcise Male Infants in Antiquity? A Reassessment of the Evidence.Thomas R. Blanton Iv - 2023 - Journal of the Jesus Movement in its Jewish Setting: From the First to the Seventh Century 2023 (10):38–66.
Two diametrically opposed assumptions have influenced interpretations of circumcision rituals in ancient Judaism: either women performed the operation on their infant sons because children at birth and during infancy remained under the purview of the mother; or, conversely, men—specifically a ritual agent known as the mohel—performed circumcisions, because only they were typically granted authority to carry out the ritual. This study reassesses the pertinent texts, including Exodus 4 and passages from the books of Maccabees and the Babylonian Talmud (b. Šabb. (...)

  9. Dini plüralizmin əsasları.Aladdin Malikov - 2022 - İlahiyyat Jurnalı 3 (6):pp. 25-29.
Plüralizm latınca "plüralis" sözündən olub "çoxluq" deməkdir. Plüralizm ictimai-siyasi həyatda daim yarışda və rəqabət mübarizəsində olan, bir-birindən asılı və bununla yanaşı, muxtar olan sosial, siyasi qrupların, partiyaların, təşkilatların, ideyaların və baxışların çoxluğu mənasını verir. Plüralizmin siyasi, mədəni-mənəvi iqtisadi, sosial və s. növləri mövcuddur. Təbiətinə görə plüralizm cəmiyyətdə normal sosial-siyasi münasibətlərin dirçəlmə meyillərinin inkişafını stimullaşdırır, proseslər nəzarətə məruz qalmadan sərbəst, müstəqil şəkildə inkişaf edir. Plüralizm nəticəsində sosial-siyasi baxışların, əlaqələrin sayı artır ki, bu əlaqələrdən, istiqamətlərdən hər biri öz müxtariyyatına doğru inkişaf etməyə (...)
